Over 50 tourism business owners and managers attended the Ring of Cork’s Annual Tourism Seminar and networking event on 4th December at the newly revamped Midleton Distillery Experience.
This year’s event featured compelling talks from Kevin Cullinane, Deputy Director of Communications at daa, and David Byrne, Director of Midleton Campus, Midleton Distillery Experience. Both speakers highlighted their important roles in driving tourism and unlocking new economic opportunities for Cork and the wider region.
Kevin Cullinane emphasised:
“Unlocking the tourism potential of our region through enhanced international connectivity is a key priority for us at daa. By continuously improving our operations and infrastructure at Cork and Dublin airports, we are supporting the growth of tourism and raising our standards of service for our passengers.”
Meanwhile, David Byrne discussed the progression of the Midleton Distillery Experience since 1992, sharing insights on its recent redevelopment and how customer centricity and shared responsibility across our team are crucial to making Midleton Distillery Experience a world-class visitor attraction.
Elga Ryan, SECAD Partnership and Ring of Cork Project Manager, highlighted the critical role tourism plays in supporting the local economy:
“Tourism brings significant income into the region, whether from domestic or international visitors, creating more jobs and boosting the local economy. This benefits a wide range of businesses, from visitor attractions, accommodation providers, cafes, restaurants, to pubs and much more.”
“We were also delighted to give tourism business owners and managers the opportunity to collaborate together in such a stunning setting.”
