Celebrate the Cork Oyster and Seafood Festival on September 21st with a seafood and sail event like no other. This extraordinary day long experience brings together Cronin’s Pub, Crosshaven; Crawford & Co, Cork City and Ocean Escapes, who are some of Cork harbour’s best-loved pubs and marine activity providers.
Starting in Crosshaven at midday, punters will enjoy a delicious Mad Fish Stew prepared by the team at the award-winning Cronin’s Pub, Crosshaven. This Mediterranean style stew is crammed with lots of fresh fish and shellfish. From here walk a short distance to the Hugh Coveney Pier and be treated to an oyster shucking demo amongst the fishing boats, overlooking the scenic Owenabue River. Take with you your own freshly shucked oyster and jump aboard Ocean Escapes boat who will be waiting alongside to transport you to the city.
The next two hours is a delightful harbour cruise taking in Camden Fort Meagher, Spike Island, the historic town of Cobh and Blackrock Castle, where we will sail upriver into Cork city. The Rising Sons brewery will host a bar onboard, so you can sit back, take in the view and relax with a beer from Cork city’s own microbrewery. Onboard we will be joined by musical duo Velvet who promise to provide you with sweet-swinging tunes and soulful tracks.
And if the party couldn’t get any better, once we set foot in the city centre, we will convene in Crawford & Co on Anglesea street for a sumptuous seafood BBQ with monkfish, mussels and more.
