Gradient – Art Exhibition at the Ballymaloe Grainstore

Ballymaloe Grainstore
28 March - 14 April

About the Artists:

Kim Roberts is a mixed media artist and printmaker living on the shores of Cork Harbour. During the pandemic she returned to Ireland having lived in Greece for a number of years. Her inspiration has always been from the environment she lives in, an urban setting in the City of Thessaloniki in Northern Greece or the natural woodland and seaside setting in Currabinny, Co. Cork. The essence and spirit of both locations evident in the work.

As a mixed media artist she spends a lot of time gathering found objects and waste materials from beaches and boatyards around the harbour. These found materials inspire her further and are used  as the subject matter within her work. They are photographed and sketched and end up elevated to another level, almost like trophies.  She works fast and furious and from the sub conscious. The results are mainly abstract, inviting the viewers to dive into the forms and extract their own personal narrative.

Ros Terry a Dublin-born visual artist, currently holds the position of resident artist at Hazelhurst Gallery in Monkstown, Cork. Proficient in various media such as oil, gouache, and acrylic paint, he seamlessly navigates artistic styles ranging from classical to contemporary, infusing each piece with his distinctive personality. Beyond painting, he explores diverse processes including sculpture, photography, screen printing, and lino printing. At the core of his artistic philosophy lies an unwavering commitment—to master a versatile skill set capable of bringing any imaginative concept to life, ensuring each piece encapsulates the essence of his vision. Committed to perpetual growth and development, Ros Terry envisions an ongoing journey of artistic evolution.
