The Cork Birdathon event is the culmination of many years of work by SECAD and partner organisations such as BirdWatch Ireland.
Over the last two years, SECAD has improved and extended the South and East Cork Bird Trail, now stretching all the way from Rocky Bay to Youghal. Now that the trail is complete, it is time to launch it with a fun and interactive event. We very much hope this becomes an annual event and look forward to making it a success with you!
With the help of the National Biodiversity Datacentre, the Cork Birdathon will capture data on the bird life in the area. As a citizen science project, we intend to build up an in-depth profile of the area, helping to deepen our understanding of our local flora and fauna.
