On March 29th, the Cork-based quartet Cascade Strings presents Untamed Melodies – A Celebration of Global Biodiversity, an evening of classical renditions of wildlife-inspired hits in the Auditorium of the state-of-the-art Education, Conservation and Research Centre at Fota Wildlife Park.
The Concert for Conservation setlist will include string interpretations of beloved standards like The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Hey Hey We’re the Monkeys, and Bare Necessities.
The event is held to raise funds for Wildlife Madagascar, a conservation organisation that collaborates with communities to conserve Madagascar’s extraordinary biodiversity. The evening will include a short presentation about the conservation programmes at Fota Wildlife Park, and the efforts being undertaken to help save endangered species from extinction in Madagascar. An hour-long concert from the quartet, Cascade Strings, will follow.
Cascade Strings are known for their versatility, specialising in professional wedding music and performing at various events across Ireland. All members are graduates of the MTU Cork School of Music, and they bring their expert training and passion to every performance.
