A whiskey uprising is happening across Ireland in 2017 and J.J. Coppinger’s, Midleton want to help tell the authentic story of Irish Whiskey.
The bar, which opened in late March 2015, is running an event entitled The Whiskey Rebellion; a ticketed event, in collaboration with Irish Distillers, that kicks-off at 7.30pm on Thursday 9th of February. The event will feature a whiskey tasting session by Gerard Garland, a live cooperage display by 5th generation cooper, Ger Buckley and live music by Jackdaw Sessions. Cork hurling legend, Tomás Mulcahy will emcee the night.
With a growing stock of over 65 whiskeys, J.J.Coppinger’s is located next to the world’s largest distiller of Irish whiskey, a much-celebrated home to a whiskey distillery since 1825. The bar is named after Midleton’s gallant hero, who while serving as General in The American Civil War, would have witnessed first-hand the epic role whiskey played in lifting the spirits of soldiers and consoling the wounded.
J.J.Coppinger’s trained whiskey bartenders will be providing a special whiskey-themed cocktail menu on the night.
