The spring season of shows in Ballymaloe Grainstore, Shanagarry Co. Cork concludes on Sunday 12 May at 8pm with An Evening With Cara O’Sullivan.

One of Ireland’s leading sopranos, Cork-born Cara takes to the Ballymaloe Grainstore stage for the first time. As well as showcasing her extraordinary voice, she will share memorable stories from her career, including both highlights and lowlights.  She’ll perform classic favourites from her wide-ranging repertoire in this informal, irreverent and humorous evening of song and story.

An artist with an impeccable operatic pedigree, Cara has risen to prominence as one of the country’s best loved voices.  She is an instinctive performer with a remarkably full voice, exciting and dramatic but she performs with great sensitivity. Cara has shown herself to be a fearless vocal artist, whether singing Mozart, Verdi, Donizetti, or Puccini and is very much in demand for opera, oratorio and song recitals.

Cara’s concert career and operatic engagements have taken her all over the world.  Spanning an impressive and wide-ranging repertoire, she has been referred to as “the Irish superstar of her generation”.

Tickets for An Evening With Cara O’Sullivan are €23 and can be booked online at www.ballymaloegrainstore.com or by phone on 021-4651555.  Subject to booking fees.  Packages for pre-show dinner and accommodation in Ballymaloe House are available for all performances – bookings by phone only.

Ballymaloe Grainstore is a 300-seat performing arts venue located twenty miles east of Cork City.  The only purpose-built venue in East Cork, it is built on the site of a 17th-century building used for storing grain and farm machinery.

The spring season of ten shows in Ballymaloe Grainstore has been presented by Patrick Talbot Productions.
